Although R0d3nts is not an RP focused shop, you are welcome to do it, and there are benefits for doing so. There are different types of roleplays, which we call Research Projects, with different requirements that give you different benefits. The actual written content of an RP can always be whatever you want it to be, regardless of what type of RP you are running. Research Projects are run in the roleplay sub-forums of Basilisk Stew and Gaiaonline forums.
The roleplay setting for R0d3nts had been left intentionally vague and flexible.
There are different kinds of benefits you can earn through RP, which will have different requirements. There are no requirements for what the actual fluff-text of a roleplay needs to be. You could write any kind of story for any of the different kinds Research Projects (RPs).
Regardless of forum or RP type, all threads must follow the same titling conventions. They must be labeled with the type of RP you are running at the start of the title with the format [CB/GR/TA] Title of the Roleplay. Completed roleplays should be marked with a [C] after the label but before the title, such as [TA][C] This is an Example.
